THE LAWS OF ROME - The Emperor is descended from Achilles, and subsequently, the Gods. To offend the Emperor is equal to offending the Gods, and so it is a punishable offence.
- The Emperor's word is law, and he shall not tolerate disobedience.
- Respect those of a higher authority to yourself.
- Males and females are regarded as almost equal in Rome; though a male usually has slightly more standing.
- To rape a Roman female is punishable by death, whether you are a Roman citizen or not. If you flee, any Roman you encounter will be free to attempt to mortally wound you.
- Murder is not tolerated, unless the character in question has been declared an enemy of the state.
- Uprising will be dealt with swiftly and without mercy. Emperor Vespasian learnt a lot during his father's more extreme reign.
- If a state is declared an enemy of Rome, fraternizing with said state can be punishable by exile or death.
- Invasion of Roman provinces will not be tolerated. Expect full-scale retaliation if you attempt to take Roman land.
